The deluge of rain last night was forgotten with blue skies and brilliant sunshine if only we could shake off the strong SW'ly wind. A good variety on patch with 2 Fieldfares a single Redwing and Pied Wagtail, Bramblings were reduced to 4 and Wheatear to 1, possible increases were Willow Warblers and Chiffchaffs with 4+ each at least. 13 Purple Sandpipers kept me entertained whilst an Otter gave me the slip ! and a single Bonxie was logged.

A Swallow whizzed through but most surprising was the presence of the Hoopoe still, again very flighty and only ever showing distantly.

View from the garden looking west.
