Yes that's right today was a good day, no rarities just a good scattering of migrants. A good check around patch first thing with a male Blackcap first up, then a patch tick Carrion Crow followed by a single Bar-tailed Godwit at the Houb. The 6 Mealy Redpolls and Willow Warbler were still in residence whilst 2 dark phase Arctic Skuas were the first of the year. A Lesser Whitethroat at the top of the road made up a good return for the last few frustrating days.
With everybody else off isle (or so i thought) thought i would check up at Skaw, 2 Collared Doves where still about as were 2 Chiffchaffs and a Willow Warbler. A Pipit was flushed from the plantation which eventually showed late afternoon and could be identified as a Tree Pipit and a smart male Whinchat was also about. 4 more Arctic Skuas, 2 pale phase flew by with one giving excellent views as it flew inland.
