Kite flying

The wind of yesterday was still in situ but thankfully the rain was limited to squally showers sandwiched between brilliant blues skies. A quick and pointless check of Brough this morning composed of a lone Siskin and 2 Arctic Terns over the Houb. Looked like i would get caught up in one of the blustery showers if it wasn't for a sheep byre, a bit smelly but dry. Monday is shopping day, and whilst walking around Tesco's recieved a text that the Black Kite had been seen around Fladdabister, with it only being 7 miles away thought it rude not to have a look. We arrived to find it sat out in the middle of a field firstly getting harrased off a couple of Hooded Crows then a pair of Oystercatchers, great views were had and so much better than the distant Black (eared) Kite i had in 2007.
